Family Law Initial Planning

Our initial meeting with you to identify the family law issues and events you want resolved. From this meeting we will commence formulating you Family Law Plan.

 Your family law issues may include:

  • Financial settlements, parenting arrangements, child support issues, spousal maintenance issue, domestic violence, divorce;

  • Advice on protecting your existing assets and future inheritances if you were to separate in the future or enter into new relationships;

  • Seeking a second opinion because you are unsure about the progress and direction of your current legal representation

You will be a newlywed shortly and you want to have a better understanding of the legalities of marriage . It sounds radical that a newlywed would consult with a divorce lawyer, but it makes a lot of sense because statistics confirm the chances of your relationship breaking down is greater than defaulting on your mortgage and with far greater consequences. The purpose is not to discourage marriage but to help it as we provide information about future potential hurdles that you will be prepared for. Forewarned is forearmed.

Family Law Pre-Separation Planning (FLPP)

If you are looking to leave your spouse you should formulate a plan and get yourself prepared first. Obtaining pre-separation advice is a sensible and practical step to take. By thinking ahead, you can take steps to ease the transition for both you and your children and put you in the best position to achieve a child focused parenting arrangement and/or a just and equitable property settlement.
